Our number one priority remains the health and safety of our staff and those we serve. To prevent the spread of COVID-19, we have implemented a number of preventative measures in accordance with Public Health guidelines. We are committed to doing our part to stop the spread of COVID-19 and these measures will remain in place until further notice.
- To support social distancing, WAYS head office is currently closed to the public. Our administrative team is working from home where possible and available to respond to email and phone messages.
- Our live-in program staff continue to provide shelter, safety and comfort to youth in our care. At this time, we have restricted visitors to the homes and implemented daily symptom screening, provided staff and youth with personal protective equipment (PPE) and increased cleaning protocols to keep our staff and youth safe and supported at this time.
ENHANCED FOSTER PROGRAM
- Our team continues to work closely with child welfare agencies to safely bring vulnerable children into loving foster homes. Immediately upon a child’s arrival, the foster family enters a 14-day isolation period to ensure the protection of the family and the community.
- London-Middlesex and Chatham-Kent staff continue to support their existing clients through the use of technology. All face-to-face appointments have been redirected to telephone support at this time while we work to acquire the technology and platforms necessary for secure video conferencing in order to support families face-to-face.
